Hi guys

As the title suggests Im installing a new fence the location is quite windy so Ive taken the 2.4 meter 4" post 800mm into the ground. What Im trying to work out is should I screw the panels into the face of the posts or use L brackets and mount the panels between the posts? Is it personal preference or is there a reason for one technique over the other?
Thanks

What sort of panels?

If larch lap panels they normally go in between the posts, they can be screwed through the side rails into the posts - fence installers often use 6.0mm x 70 screws

assuming the posts are in the right place as in fully on your land unless they are 50mm from the boundary you will loose 4" to next door placed on the posts your side

you will also need up to another post and panel up to 18 panels and every 18 panels after that
