Hi guys. I wanted to secure my slats on my fences as the gap is getting wide and wide. Tried with some nails the other day and it was a pain in the back side.

Anyone have any recommendations on what else to do?

Hammering nails in, with nothing to support the other side, is doomed to failure. Try screws, with perhaps some heftier timber behind, to screw into.
First sentence put everything in a nut shell, spot on. Thanks for advice will try

Sorry to be a lazy sh*t, but what exact screw size would you recommend? I am not good with screw sizes

That's an eyeball judgement. Maybe #6 or #8, of a length which doesn't quite go through both thicknesses of the timber. Plated steel, will last for a few years, but if you expect the fence to last longer than a few years, use stainless steel, or proper brass screws.

Do you mean 6mm and 8mm?

Forgot to mention the fence shakes a lot. Is there anything I could get to prevent this as when it is windy it is annoying to hear the fence hitting back and forth

Does it have wooden posts in the ground?

Or concrete posts with panels loose in the slots?

Add a full width horizontal batten or arris rail. Or if you have a particularly warped slat, just replace that slat, by which I mean a length of feather edge.

Hi guys, need some help regarding my other fence panel. Bare in mind this fence is very very old.

Can anyone give me any advice on how to secure this fix in any way? The fence rocks back and forth and will eventually come off probably.

Would appreciate the help and also keep in mind on a low budget fix!

Have attached pictures, would attach a video but system doesn't accept the file!

What is causing the rocking?

Is the whole post rocking?

Or is it that the bolts are loose?

Right bolt is very loose, not securing onto it anymore. Rust and the hole inside where it connects is possible worn off and broken!

Its not rocking I think as much, my main concern is to secure it somehow, but not to do anything major like remove posts etc. Just need some sort of firm fix to not get even worse
