Hi

Today I fitted a fernox TF1 compact on a central heating system in one of my houses. I have installed it next to the boiler on the flow pipe but have later read it is best suited to the return pipe. The boiler is not new so the crap has already gone through it before the filter was fitted.

Am I best re installing it on the return pipe ?

Will this make much difference now ?

Would it make sense to leave it and if a new boiler gets fitted at a later date then move it on to return ?

Thanks

I would now leave it for the time being and move when a new boiler is installed. As said the boiler has had the water running through it for years already and being on the flow will still collect debris and be better than nothing.

Will it make alot of difference if I move it to return for the sake of 30mins of my time.

Yep, TF1 should be supplied with a bucket to catch the drips

Magnacleans are good, as are Spirotech MB3s. Personally I prefer Magnacleans
