I have a Ferroli 102 which is slowly driving me insane. I know its last minute as the colder weather is now with us but I had a problem at the tail end of last winter which has not caused me an issue since as I am only now starting to us my central heating.
The expansion tank (dont think that is the correct name) had water in it but was drained and the air pressure was replaced to 1 BAR, this seemed to fix the problem for a while and the boiler worked ok for about a week but I had further problems and was told it was the PRV. I replaced the PRV, drained the whole system checked I had one bar in the expansion tank then filled the system to 1.2 Bar of water, bled the radiators then started the heating which ran perfectly for several hours and maintained a pressure of about 1.7 BAR. After a few more hours the pressure builds to just over 3 BAR. I have drained the Rads, checked pressures and started from scratch several times and am still getting the same problem of high pressure which causes the PRV to open. What am I doing wrong or what is the next thing I should be looking at?
