Hi Guys,

Our carpet fitter said he wouldn't fit the new carpet we bought as the gaps in the chipboard are too wide (less than 5mm) and says we should fill them. Gaps were caused by previous occupants cutting channel in floor to fit new heating system.

Wood filler I think would eventually fall through the gap so could I use mastick or expanding foam? I've seen a product called Exact Gap Foam to do this.

Thanks

Dougie

Bit of plastering scrim, and 2 part wood filler. You can use car body filler, it's the same stuff.
