Filling in 15mm pipe hole

Ive removed an outside tap and have a 9" solid wall to fill in a 15mm gap

I don't want to buy a whole can of expanding foam for such a small job.

I have some plasterboard adhesive foam, would this do the job just as well? I would mortar fill the last 2cm of both outside and inside

Yes if you really wanted to fill the entire hole you could just do it with mortar instead just mix a little more when you would of done to plug the ends of the hole
