I am about to embark on painting my staircase white and am wondering what I should use to fill the gaps, wood filler or caulk? I've attached a photo to help.
Caulk for sure.... A nice neat stream of caulk in the gap and painted as mentioned by bosswhite. Keep the caulk to just a thin neat constant stream so as to avoid running your finger along and creating another line in the caulk.
You have to be careful with caulk, cut a small angle on the caulk nozzle, slow and easy better to fill twice than too much. I use a silicone tool to remove any excess: See Here These are the best i've tried for awkward places. make sure you have some wet wipes too to clean your hands and any tools.
