Filling the gap between UPVC Window and the Non-Bricked/ Tiled Wall

Hi, I would like to fill the gap shown in the pictures. I've bought No Nonsense Grey Frame Sealant from Screwfix but I feel that the current gap is too big for sealant.

Although I am a keen DIYer, I've no experience of using expanding foam which seems to be already deep inside if you zoom into the pics.

I am thinking of filling it using caulk, carboard strips, T&E electric cable or even some thick magazine paper before I apply the frame sealant.

Your thoughts please. Thanks.

Are they newly fitted? Windows should not have been left like that. Maybe some colour matched trim after sealing..

They are newish windows, as they were installed by the previous owner who had refurbished the house.
I reached out to the window suppliers/ installers after checking paperwork. They said even a visit to check would need to be paid for as warranty does not carry forward to the new owner.
