I've just had a flat roof replaced with new felt. On the edge where the guttering is, the felt folds around and is then held in place by a timber batten.

This is obviously exposed and I am worried it will rot quite quickly, especially as it is above the gutter and exposed to moisture- see picture attached.

Is this the right way to hold the felt in place?[/img]

Its a welted drip and that is the proper way to form them.
The timber should be tanalised.
