I've had a new kitchen extension plastered. The guy was amazing and its the best finish I've ever ever seen. But I've been advised it may be too smooth for the paint to stick to.
As has been said, its probably been over polished. I think plasters do it for 2 reasons, firstly to show you how good they are, and secondly to pee you off when you have to rough the surface up a bit in order to get paint to stick to it!
