Hi All. In our fire doors they used to have concealed door closers. They where taken out about 7 yrs ago. There is now holes in the doors, is the

Everbuild Everflex Fire Mate Intumescent Acrylic Sealant – Fast Curing – Permanently Flexible – Fire Resistant – White – 295ml

A suitable filler to use?

Thanks in advance

**My concern is the fire doors are 30min rated, this is 4hrs and it expands, would this stop the door from opening

Are you under regs? Doors inspected?
At work we don't really repair doors just replace them because of inspections.

You could just use wood dowel and glue in holes.
Even the big one.
Then some powder filler in the minor damaged wood bits.
Filling with mastic will be messy and a fail

No we are not under the regs, it is a private ground floor flat, with 30min protection but i would like the fire doors to be as they should. Do you think the fire foam is okay?

The fire service said to use some fire rated foam

IMO.
You have two options.
Go to DIY to the trim and dowel rack. B&Q is best as they sell short bits, well they did in a second rack.
Wood glue and knock in.
Cut off level.

I have one myself which is sill in. I've never got around to removing

My plan is to use 2 pack resin wood filler and paint over as I not bothered with regs

I put hydraulic closure on my door as the hidden closure kept snapping

@freddiemercurystwin I was not there when the concealed door closers where removed. The reason they where removed was because of a loud banging, but towels where been put on doors stopping them being closed. The regulations no longer require these doors to have self closing devices on, however, i have installed over head closers on some doors as it is easier for the elderly residents whilst helping keep everyone safe with the door closed. (Unfortunately it is being held open with a door wedge at the moment ): ) The other doors- bedrooms will be refitted with concealed closers with a "shut at night" or when no one is in sign on. I could tell you all the reasons but theres too much!

Bizarrely, you can't take these closers out and fill the holes as the doors then won't be certifiable (even if certification is not needed) and they won't be classed as fire doors.
But you can leave the closers in even if disengaged and everything will be compliant!

Remember, even if "not under regs" there will be an insurance issue or a statutory issue with various fire safety regulations if a fire door is no longer a fire door by virtue of alterations, and a fire occurs.

Buildings have to conform to the regulations that applied at the time they were built, and not to subsequent changes in regulations - unless those changes are prescriptive to previous buildings.

Thank you for making me aware of this. I will be getting this fixed immediately!

Thanks again
