Hi everyone, not sure if this is the correct section to put this question in to, so sorry if its not.

I have got a real flame gas fire fitted in the lounge which uses a power flue due to the house having no chimney, but when its cold outside we get a cold draft coming out from underneath the hearth and also the wall the fire place is on is also very cold.

As the fire place was already fitted when we moved in, I can only presume that who ever fitted the fire did not seal the cavity or around the ducting.

I plan to get a Registered Gas Installer to disconnect the gas so I can remove the fire, but I am not sure what materials I need to seal the cavity and around the ducting to stop the draft.

Can anyone advise what materials I can use?

Any advise would be appreciated.

thanks

fibre glass/rockwool pushed into cavity around fire opening.
fanned fires are a nuisance for draughts , proper nalanced flue a lot less so.

Cheers mate.

Is there a specific type of fibreglass/rockwool that I would need to get?

Thanks again.
