Hi could anyone tell me if I need to install fire rated downlights in a bathroom. The bathroom is on the first floor and above that is a loft. The downlights are in zone 3.
Cheers for any help

No requirement to fit fire rated downlighters or any special consideration with regards to IP ratings as you're fitting them outside of zones 1 and 2.
Zone 3 doesn't exist any more in a bathroom.

Zone 3 doesn't exist in the current edition of the IEE regs, however in respect to the Law in England and Wales the statutory instrument still refers to the zones in 16th edition regs so the work will still be notifiable.
