Fire valve for oil boilers

There is a fire valve located near a oil boiler, is it ok to leave it there or do you need to fit one on the oil line before it enters a property , it is an existing installation

Building regs require and have always required a remote acting fire valve be fitted so yes you will have to fit one such as a teddington KBB (other approved types are available) I would remove the exisitng non- conforming valve to avoid future problems! ;)
 
It should be external to property with sensor above burner.

On external boilers it should be a min of 1m from boiler.
