Hi

Oil heating boiler keeps tripping out and this is due to the fire valve

I reset the valve and the boiler will start again but goes off after a while
any idea why this would happen

Is it a bulb type fire valve? If so reposition therefore in a cooler area above the burner box or is the boiler getting too hot or its knackered and needs replaced. They do fail from time to time.

Replace the fire valve for one which goes off at 90 degrees and place the copper phiel well above the burner make sure it's not touching anything which gets hot good luck :D :D
