My lounge wall is brick, cavity, breezeblock, dot/dab plasterboard. I have removed a gas fire, leaving the cavity where the breeze block was removed for the old fire. I want to fit floating shelves for my home cinema AV receiver, sky box etc. in the recess. I am wall mounting a TV just above.
The old flue hole I intend to brick/mortar. What do u recommend I do from a building regs POV to insulate/ waterproof the recess, which I intend to plasterboard and then have a plasterer skim the whole wall?
