Hi all, recently removed a Gas fire from fireplace, how do you go about making some type of removable frame that can be boarded to allow a small electric heater to be recessed in the existing opening.

Many Thanks.

Pics of opening and fireplace would help get you better advice. Also has the gas been safely and suitably isolated

If you are removing the marble back then I would guess the chimney breast plasterwork behind it will need to be made good. Ask the plasterer to include making good the opening at the same time so you can just sit your heater in it when you need to.
