There are spot lights in the bathroom's wood panel ceiling of a house I'm buying. The surveyor says they do not have adequate fire proofing. Can anyone advise me how to rectify this? Loads of thanks x
Thanks v much for your reply. Yep, she was talking about the lights specifically. Are these hoods something I could pick up at the local hardware store? The spots look like all the others I've seen in previous bathrooms, nothing special about these by the looks of them.
Needing intumescent hoods or intumescent luminaires to restore the fire rating of a ceiling is unusual in an ordinary house - are you sure that the surveyor didn't mean that the lights were not F marked, and therefore not suitable for mounting on a normally flammable surface, like wood?
