I wish to install a corner shower but there is a 150mm lintel that sticks out into the room along the top right hand corner allowing only 1980mm from the floor to the bottom of the lintel. Would it be possible to get a shower enclosure and cut a150mm square from the top right corner to make it fit? Is there any other alternative?

The glass used for shower enclosures is toughened, so it will shatter if you attempt to cut it.

If an 'off the peg' enclosure doesn't fit, there are many companies producing bespoke enclosures to suit individual installations.

Thanks for the advice. What if the shower enclosure was made of perspex?

You can certainly cut polycarbonate - if thats what the enclosure is made from. All plastics like this scratch very easily though....are you sure its made from this?

Had something very similar to overcome in our en suite bathroom - limited space can make the majority of the off shelf stuff unsuitable. In the end we tiled two side walls and fitted a glass screen to make up a "third wall" - perfect little shower enclosure alternative I think.

Works for us anyways - didn't cost much more than having a freestanding option, which is what we had set our hearts on. Hope that helps :)

200mm x 200mm glass blocks sealed properly will be ideal for this type of one off job
