i have read through every posting i can find on here but none help me with the problem i have.

before my father died he was trying to replace a pull cord for my mother (no it wasn't the electrical handywork that got him  ). As his 80 year old fingers could not manage it he left the wired unattached inside the unit and closed it up, telling my mum "He needed another part!" and promptly avoided it for months.

so what i have is
a new pull cord with comm/L1/LS

1 black/red cable coming from the consumer unit
1 black/red cable going to the second switch
2 black/red cables going to light units

the black wires have been connected into 2 bits of block
i have no idea what is meant to go where. (well i do but i don't like chancing it with electricity)
Can anyone tell me what to put where

Your hand in your pocket and get a qualified electrician to sort it out safely.

yes it is in the conservatory which has its own CU in the corner so i have followed the cable all the way back. There is only one set of lights with a pull switch at each end of the room.

will take a look at the link you gave, thanks
