i have a new gas hob and blindly assumed it takes a 15mm compression fitting - but NO, of course not! apparently it needs a ½ inch BSP connection... so now i'm stuck - is this a compression fitting? is it a hose? where do i get the fitting? or do i shell-out to get mr. corgi in?
advice welcomed!

Someone (a general I think) once said, "Assumption is the mother of all f ups'. Without wishing to antagonise the diy fraternity, with such a low level of basic knowledge, and being that its gas you'll be messing with I would recommend paying for it to be done.
