Can ask for some clarity about fitting an electric cooker to an existing hole. I have found a Beko cooker that is a little bigger than the gas cooker which is being removed. The Beko instructions for fitting it say that the hole should be certain sizes plus or minus 2mm. That seems ridiculously tight to me, presumably it needs to be that tight to use the speedy-fix clamps. But there is a graphic in the fitting instructions which make is look like there are alternative clamps, which could be used if the hole isn't accurately cut. Is that the case? Might those clamps be available on the sides and back as well as the front?

Opening needs to be the correct specified size. You dont have much wiggle room.

I can only see one type of clamp?

I think the graphic seems to be saying that there is only one clamp. I haven't bought it yet so I can't check.

In effect probably means that I have to change the worktop when changing from gas to electric?

Unless I can:

find an electric cooker with a more old fashioned way to fit it in place, that is, with the screw-down adjustable clamps in many places.

or

if the hole vacated by the gas cooker is too small I could enlarge it.

or

if the hole vacated by gas cooker is too big I could build it up

or

just glue the electric cooker in place, it isn't going to jump up of its own accord.

Clamps for hobs usually extend 20-30mm beyond the cut out.The diagram seems to show spring clips for the side and optional clamps where the the worktop may be unsuitable for spring clips (for example 20 mm work top )
