I am adding an immersion heater into the house i am doing up.

Its place in the consumer box is the 16amp (no rcd side of the spilt load).

At the heater end of the cable (USED 2.5MM), i have a timer to go in, a heater switch with neon idicator and the new immersion heater itself (it is the new cut out design).

Do i need to put a fused output at the immersion end or will the consumer box deal with that with its 16amp?

IF i need a fused connection at the heater end, i will need to find myself a fused switched then.

Many thanks,

Stuart

As long as the cable and all accessories are rated to 16A or greater then they will be adequately protected by the MCB.

yes but no but
