I need to fit 2 kitchen corner units. This requires fitting a braket 'thing' to the wall and hanging the units off it, as far as I know.

the thing is, the units will have soe weight in them.
there is a 20mm gap between the plasterboard and brickwork.
I was thinking abut cutting the plasterboard away, and attaching some wod directly to the brick, and then attaching the bracket to that.

is this making a mountain out of a molehill?
or is there a better alternative for making a strong anchor?

any helpwill be appreciated.

You're in the right direction but carry with longer screw into the brickwork unless you meant that.
