Which bit? The only good idea I can see is threading the horse-shoe washer through the hole, instead of struggling under the sink.
When I only had an ordinary socket set to hand, to get the nut near enough to the end of the threaded rod to get a socket on, I've used a distance piece. 1/4" NB steel pipe is just the right ID for an M8 rod. Since then I've got a box spanner, which gets round it.
Have you not already been doing that on some installs?

So my question is, where is his rubber o ring seal under the tap? It appears to me that he has threaded this down to below the sink.

The method in the video obviously wouldn't work with your tap, as the plastic spreader won't go through the hole.
I think the order in #3 of the earlier thread is correct, the O-ring above the sink. If it were below it would be up against the rubber washer in the spreader, which doesn't seem right. Have you fitted it yet, and is it OK?
A-ha, yes it's all fitted. I used the o ring above and the plastic spreader plate below. I can't say if it all ok as I'm still waiting for the plumber to connect up the mains water. Looks good though! And pretty solid.
