I have to replace two strap on bosses with adaptors to the outside large soil stack (?), not sure of correct name. (My car clutch failed and the car ran into the stack dislodging/breaking all the pipes except the stack.) I have purchased all the parts but can anyone please advise (1) when putting the new bosses on, do I need to use the adhesive for the complete large circular part of the bosses joining it to the stack and (2) if it is stuck together, how difficult is it to get the old straps off, do I need any particular solvent for this as I am worried about damaging the stack. Thank you for any help you may be able to give. Dee.

I'm a bit square for this but if the boss is a solvent weld, stuck on type there's no way its coming off.
I have seen ones on cast pipes though that have simply used a rubber gasket and silicone.
John :)

Should be in plumbing section, but if I understand you correctly easiest to cut out damaged wastepipe and replace using flexi connectors.[You can get a section with the bosses built in.]
