Soil Stack.... Not sure about 'strap on' boss!

Recently put a new soil stack up and have a 40mm waste from bath and basin going into it, all plastic.

With a strap on boss, does that need solvent weld too?

Yes and don't forget the cleaner before solvent welding.

cleaner? for other joints so far i have used a lint free rag and seems okay? Starting to feel incredibly novice at all this building lark!

Read the installation manuals

Cleaner is applied to remove the outer mould release agents from the pipe and provide a clean surface for the weld.

And if you take a couple of sniffs of the cleaner, Christmas will bllissfully pass you by!
I don't like em becuase they look tacky. The Terrain (and possibly others) bosses are much neater. No strap, just an oval hole.

Now I'm going to have to find a pic I suppose....

Seems Polypipe and Terrain are now one, and I can't find the type I wanted...

Two other things to remember;

Put plenty of solvent weld onto both surfaces to be joined.

Makes sure that there is no water on any of the surfaces to be joined, and that its not expected to rain in the next hour or two. Fresh solvent hates damp/wet conditions.
