hi all,

helping a mate fit a shower tray to a plasterboarded wall.

as we offered the tray up to the wall noticed the wall was not straight, and there was a 1" gap at certain points.

is it ok to chop the plaster board out and recess the tray in?

You could do, but you need to ensure your enclosure has enough adjustment in it to still fit the tray. 1" is an awful lot, any chance of a picture with the tray against the walls.

That sounds very strange, usaully there is slight bit so you chop out pb and square things up but who inch is quite alot, you have to think about the tiles as well ,if the wall is that far out of square then maybe it would be better to sort it out before you sit the tray down

Make to seal everything well and no movement whatsoever otherwise the tray will leak and always at the joints, thats the weak spot for water penetration

As mark says a photo would be good idea and pehaps we can help further
