Hi, I have a dry, level concrete garage floor approx 6 square metres, with insulation underneath. I am looking to raise the floor by 100mm as part of the conversion to an extra room which will be used every day.
On top of that I want to lay something suitable for a covering of 2/3 carpet and 1/3 22mm solid wood flooring.
I would also like to insulate the floor while I am at it.
My dilema is that I don't know whether to go down the road of a floating floor or joists. I would be grateful for any help with the procedures for whichever method you advise and any particular materials that you recommend.
I realise that there are no short answers to this question so thanks in advance to anybody taking it on.
