I want to install a fold-down table in my garden cabin (built using 44mm width timbers) weight 8kg (specifically this: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/...l-mounted-drop-leaf-table-birch-art-80091713/ ).

I'm guessing it will be too heavy to simply use screws into the timbers themselves, given they're only 44m in depth.

This is probably a very basic question, but what should i be using to make this fit for purpose? A separate battening over the timbers and some specialised fixings?

The vertical strut under the table takes most of the load so should be fine, though a cabin made with just 44mm timber may fall down.
