Hi,

This probably sounds like a stupid question but i just bought a pick axe handle and head from Wickes.

I have slid the head down the shaft but the fit is not particularly good and it's loose.

Can anyone tell me how you are supposed to do it properly?

Cheers,

Jon.

Turn the pick axe head down, and a couple of dozen sharp whacks on a concrete surface usually surfices.

Thanks :)

I put a little fairy liquid on the shaft to help the head move.

A good few whacks on the kerb and it's now nice and tight :)

Jon.
