Context: In my downstairs khazi I have some boxing hiding pipes various. Timber framed boxing, plasterboarded and then tiled over. Same tiles on the walls to half height.

I'd like to upgrade the horizontal tile surfaces (and the window board) with oak boards.

The question... How do I fix them? Decent bed of squirty glue? (Which one please); or some sort of mechanical fixing? Again, which type? Option 2 means drilling 25mm oak, maybe 6mm tile and 12mm pb. And, if I'm really lucky, a bit of timber for good measure!

Any advice gratefully accepted. Cheers

If you must glue it, I would probably use the low expansion foam that is used for securing plasterboard as it will make up for any discrepancies between the tiled surface and the board.
