Hello

We need to replace the tiles on our 1970s bungalow as the roof leaks like a sieve and I'm tired of patching it!

Cosmetically I don't really like the style of the existing concrete Marley Ludlow interlocking tile and was thinking of using a flat concrete tile instead which seems to be a bit more modern looking in my opinion.

I've been advised that we should avoid plain flat tiles as they are "not as good" as interlocking (such as ludlow or double roman) and tend to break more easily. I'm not sure if flat concrete tiles are genuinely more problematic or if they are simply more fragile and difficult to work with!

Does anyone have any advice or experience?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Moderns can be a pig to work on, yes. Especially with production these days. Mendips are my favourite....
