Hi all,

I have just put some new sockets into the kitchen and the electrical screws have a flat head, and sit counter-sunk into the socket. So the screw head sits flush with the socket.

Does anybody know where I can buy some of these as the ones supplied are not long enough considering I have glass splash backs.

Thanks alot!

Thanks, these look good. Is that the exact one I need for a normal electrical screw size? Thanks again.

Alternatively, you can buy 3.5 mm screws in various lengths, from any electrical wholesaler or possibly a good DIY shop.

I have glass splash backs.
[Please excuse]

Did you put those in, or inherit them?

If the former, how much did you have to pay per hole?

I see your point but really you need to say why would one fit sockets to an area where a splash back is required.

The reference you make does not really say in plain enough English what you are inferring. I have the same splash back running the length of my work top be it against the sink, cooker, or plain work area and I can see that where there is no sink or cooker the splash back does not really need to be as high.

However my son was called to a house with a socket in a splash back where the lady of the house had been cleaning it with Cillit Bang. And it seems there was a Bang and the socket was gone.

So yes it would seem sockets should not be fitted to splash backs?

They are often used these days in place of tiles around the whole kitchen. Tiles get cleaned too.

In answer to the question about why you would have glass splash backs I would advise the poster to look at modern kitchen designs!!

And to the question about how much it was per hole - it was a lot! £60 per cut out. It was the one big luxury for the kitchen but we will now have glass going from worktop to the underneath of the wall units and in terms of cleaning and looks there is nothing better imo.

Thanks for all advice.
