Hi all

Can a radiator be installed flat on the floor rather than on a wall.

Reason being i have made an airing cupboard in the large space above the staircase and am thinking of installing a radiator on the bottom shelf.

Can anybody think of any problems that could happen

Thanks

Tony

my guess would be the water will flow in one side and out the other in a strait line avoiding 95% off the radiator with only slight seepage off heat to the rest off the radiator

Never seen one fitted flat myself, however been to a few jobs where rads fallen off wall and still working on floor. So there is the potential for your plan to work.

One problem you may have is getting air out to fill up, if it was me i would keep it upright to fill and then lay down if possible. Also connect pipework at opposite ends bottom left top right to get circulation.

If you do try it post back

Simba :)

Would have thought creating a mini- underfloor heating matrix would do the trick! Use microbore or plastic.

why cant you just fit one in the norlam fashion? you can get quite small ones.
