Flexi hose repair dilemma

Hi all, I have a dilemma. I need to repair a black Flexi/magic/expandable hose. I cannot find a connector that has small enough male to male connections, ie males that slip over the hose on each cut end and then use a screw fit to connect the two repaired ends together. The rubber hose, inside the black crinkley outer material, is about 6.5-7mm internal diameter. The only connector kits I see are all 1/2" standard garden hose size. Of course the issue then is what happens when one turns on the water, the pressure increases and the hose expands, except where the join is. Any tips as to what do would be appreciated.

Throw it away and buy a new one. Life's too short!!

I tried repairing one with a small length of micro bore tubing and Jubilee clips to secure it. The repair lasted a few weeks then another appeared.
Threw it away and bought another one.

Those x hoses are terrible. They always split and sometimes after little use.
