Hello, I have purchased a mixer tap and the tails go up in to the tap body and I can only assume hand screw in? Does this sound correct? I've tried this but the base of the tap is now wet when connected so I can only assume its not fully sealed. Any advice appreciated.
Thank you

They only need to be hand tight because they seal on the O rings.
You must put a smear of silicone grease (or similar)on them before inserting them so that the seals don't get damaged.
Sounds like you've damaged them, you'll have to replace them.

Also, be careful you're not undoing them when tightening up the other end.
