Just bought a mono basin mixer that comes with 2 x flexible tails.

I've screwed the tails into the mixer (M10 threaded) but the supply end is a 15mm screw fitting with a rubber washer inside. Is it ok to remove the nut and olive from a 15mm compression isolating valve and screw it directly to that or will it chew the washer?

It usually works, but some compression fittings have quite a sharp edge at the end instead of a flat, which will chew the washer

Well some may think it works fine but after neatly cutting rings off rubber washers and learning from it I now spend a little time filing the chamfer off the isolation valve. It doesnt take long and you will probably spend more time looking for the file to do the job
