I am looking for the best material used for fill gaps of newly sand floor board, the timber is quite old, over 100 years old, I am looking for something that will last a long time, provide a reasonable seal. Any suggestions?

Im guessing you are trying to fill the gaps between the boards? fillers dont really work as they dont move with the wood, the easyiest way is to cut (or have cut) long strips of the same timber as the boards probable a softwood cut into 'wedges' so they are very thin along the bottom edge and wider at the top. run glue along either side of the gap push the stips in and gentle tap them down until they are tight. when the glue drys trim them down and sand them flat. it sounds like a lot of work but its much quicker than filler and cheaper
