Floor Levels too High?

Hi

Our builders are about to level the floors in our new extension but we are worried they have got the measurements wrong!

When the brickwork went up we raised the question and were told it was fine, as work progresses it looks worse. When the floor is levelled and laminate laid it is going to almost be at the same level as the french doors, is this ok? Should we create a fuss and insist it is fixed before the floor is laid or are we worrying over nothing?

I attach a photo to show where the floor level will be.

Thanks

Looks good to me, it's the scurge of UPVC doors to have a massive step/tripping hazard to fall over - what you have right there seems fine.

Agree with the others in essence they've taken an ugly trip hazard of a french door threshold and created a low threshold which is much better. We did the same on our extension just we stihl sawed the bricks below the french doors in half to lower the door that way.

EDIT: Taking a closer look does the flooring just go over the profile on the door frame? Only looks like a couple of mm but if you could get the floor flush with that profile it'd look great and save you a job or profiling the flooring edge if you really wanted to do a neat job. Maybe get the builders to reduce planned floor depth by say 5mm (If possible of course) to ensure the floor falls below the frame profile.

Do you mean the floor will be screeded or suspended floorboards ? If it's wooden you don't need that green underlay - there's your 4 mm.;)
