Floor or walls first?

Hi all,

I am just about on the last run of wall tiles in the bathroom and have about 20cms of tiles to cut in at floor level all the way round.

My question is, should I get the floor done first and cut the last tile on top of the floor or tile down to the existing floorboard and have the bathroom floor (just a vinyl floor covering on top of a 3mm board) laid and run up to the tiles?

Is it a matter of taste or would be be a no-no to tile on top of the laid flooring incase it ever needed to come up in a plumbing emergency etc etc.

Cheers!

Tile the floor now, once completed do the lower row of wall tiles, makes the work look much neater and also helps prevent the ingress of any surplus water tracking through the joint between floor and wall.
