HI i have a wall 5m long that has 3 floor to ceiling cracks they are 1200mm apart so it looks like they are where the plaster boards meet the wall is original so will be mid 70s what can i do to repair the cracks i have tried to fill and paint over in the past but the cracks just come back any advise would be welcome.

scrape into the cracks and check if there is any scrim tape between boards. Sounds like there is none

Do what he says above.....if theres no scrim tape, thats what youll need to do, tape and fill it. Or it may help having it taped and then plastered.
Get yourself a bag of easi fill, as it sands down easy, even if you do it wrong, just rub down and add more etc.
