Floor ventilation from house into garage?

Scenario is a new garage attached to an existing house.

The garage slab is at a lower level and now two existing floor vents for the house are located in the garage.

I know this isn’t best practice but I can’t find anything that categorically says it isn’t allowed?

I appreciate the concerns which are poor quality air / possible fire risk?
