floorboards over concrete and wood in the same room

I have a new kitchen extension which has a concrete screeded floor which is open to and part of the sitting room,which has a suspended wooden floor. The levels are the same, so what can go underneath floorboards (or engineered wood) as a seamless floor?
and how does the new floor go down - glued?
