What I want to do is lay 7 1/2" T&G on top of the chipboard, the thing is I want to lay the Boards to run with the joist length than across them.
Would there be any problems I would encounter?Would the boards cup?Should I use an adhesive .What would be the best fixings to use?
Thanks for any advice.

it is best to to float the floor or use adhesive (it is not recomended to nail into chipboard). Providing the chipboard is sufficently thick then there shouldnt be an issue running the boards with the joists.

You can use solid timber, but engineered boards are a better option when floating or gluing.
