Flowerbed against house wall

Personally i'd have put the layer at the back a bit higher to avoid rain run-off on to the house brick and another brick course, perhaps to ensure no further water damage can affect the wall. What kind of plants will go in the border? Have a look for the type which retain water well, that may help keep excess damp from the house. Lavender and rosemary, for instance, are excellent for those properties.

I'm pretty confident no water will get to the wall, I was more worried about underground, with the foundations etc, as it's loose ground below the flowerbed.
