Trying to understand how far a boiler flue needs to be when coming out of a pitched roof vertically where there is a window nearby. So if you had a single storey extension against the house and if there is a window above the pitched roof i.e. first floor. Worcester diagram says 1500. Baxi seems to say 1000. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

As Stadan has hinted, manufacturers instructions override regulations, so you go by whatever they say

manufacturers instructions override regulations

Would that be true when the manufacturer's instructions are dangerously wrong ? Unlikely to happen with boilers from ethical sources but in other trades ( such as installation of electrical equipment ) the manufacturer's instructions can and many do have errors and omissions that if followed would create hazards.

Errors occur of course. But vast vast majority of times, following MI makes much more sense than ignoring. In case of gas, ringing gas safe or appliance manufacturers is also an option....I am sure Bernard you are going to argue the toss about the defunct manufacturer etc....Nothing is perfect, especially in the human environment.

Many many people mess with boilers, who have not a clue, and zero common sense. They are far far more likely to kill someone than a person adhering to an error in MI....

Thanks for all the replies. Does anyone happen to know then what worcester say or Vailant on this particular dimension?
