Would value opinions/views on whether an FGA is an essential for servicing work etc.
My main work is getting to be Landlord's Gas Safety checks with servicing.

Cant say I've fitted many boilers that do not need minor tweaking, so IMO
yes FGA is essential.

You should have your CPA1 if you are using one.

More CORGI money making scandelous un-needed carp

CPA1 is not compulsory, only recommended to get as soon as practical.

I wouldn't bother. The manufacturers will tell you more than yet another course

If they are so needed why don't the British gas installers have them?

Surely you must all be wrong   ;)

Purchase price, couple of hundred quid for course and certification, annual calibration, new sensor every other year or so; a lot of money and I am still doing fine without one.

So how do you check a premix steamer on a service or after replacing a faulty gas valve for example?

how can you work without one on a condenser :?: , things like isars and icos blowing 1000ppm out of the seals behind the hx you could never know until it caused an incident and this sort of stuff is becoming the norm.
