I'm planning on flushing my open vented CH system with X400, when I come to drain it out a few weeks later, as my heating pipes downstairs are below the floor level, will any residue stay in the pipes as they are below the level of the drain off valve.

How is it possible to make sure I remove all the unwanted fluid so that I can refill in the knowledge I only have clean water and inhibitor in the system.

Thanks for the help, repeated filling and emptying it is then.

Any tips for the easiest way to get the stuff into the system in the first place, I was going to put it in the header tank and drain the system partially.

Better to drain 3 buckets full, and then tip it in. It might help when you stop the tank from filling before you drain.
