fob key problem?

seat ibiza 1-9sdi 2001 My fob key won't turn off my immobiliser but my ordinary key will any ideas

you havnt changed the batteries recently have you or dropped it????if so you night have lost the pats chip.

I had the battery changed recently what does chip look like is it inside or outside of fob key
